Please let me know if you know of anything... They generally have less than a year's working experience and have a marketing background.
Tuesday, June 24, 2008

this is good enough to come out of xanga hibernation: my pedal completely fell off while i was cycling home from work today!

if you ever have to install bicycle pedals, remember that they should be 180 degrees from each other... i mean, that's the only way that pedaling can work, right? it was quite a sight to see my pedals about 10 degrees from each other... hahaha...
Tuesday, October 02, 2007

weddings make me mad. i hate weddings.
Sunday, May 20, 2007

Talk about multi-tasking... eating sushi, singing, dancing, and running - all at once!

(Click Play)

Create Your Own PaloozaHead - Visit Lollapalooza.com

Saturday, April 21, 2007

erm... i broke my toilet seat this morning...

which normal person breaks toilet seats??? oh boy...

Fourteen:Two

That's the ratio of Annabelle's shoes to mine in the doorway.

It's not that we have a lack of space on the shoe rack, nor is it because she's too lazy to put her shoes away. It is because she delights in viewing her array of "pretty" shoes. Also, when she is dressed and ready to leave the house, she likes to hover her foot over her shoes, to see which one would match her outfit the best.

She is not called AnnabElle Woods for nothing.

Sunday, December 17, 2006

Christmas Presents For All - Need Your Help

My dear friends,

It's somewhat embarrassing to admit, but as I'm not getting an annual bonus, which means that Christmas is tight this year. I will be making bedroom slippers for you all as gifts. Please let me know your sizes. You'll most likely agree that it's a splendid idea, and should you wish to do the same, I've included the instructions below:

How to make bedroom slippers out of maxi pads:
You need four maxi pads to make a pair. Two of them get laid out flat, for the foot part. The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top. Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part. Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers (this is most aesthetically appealing), etc.

These slippers are:
* Soft and Hygienic
* Non-slip grip strips on the soles
* Built in deodorant feature keeps feet smelling fresh
* No more bending over to mop up spills
* Disposable and biodegradable
* Environmentally safe
* Three convenient sizes: Regular, Light and Get out the Sand Bags

I took a photo of the first pair I made so that you can see the nifty slippers for yourself. I am awaiting your response. It's crucial that I get the right size for each one of you! Click here to see the slippers.

Tuesday, December 12, 2006

I have 2 free tickets to the UIC vs. UW-Green Bay basketball game. Does anybody want it? It's on 14 February at 7pm (it could make for a very romantic Valentine's Day date). It actually was my worst try yet - the crust was unusually thick and thus slightly undercooked, and it was sticking to the pan. But the taste was still there. My prize: a bag of candy and a $5 Jamba Juice gift card. Yay!

This treat was too cute:

It's called Ghosts in the Graveyard.

I liked this team's costumes:

Another team did "Where's Waldo?" - everybody was in various sports gear, while one guy was in a red striped shirt, a hat and spectacles. I didn't get a photo of this, unfortunately.

Trivia: In Singapore, Waldo is known as Wally.

Here's a portion of the bake-off treats line:

Needless to say, we were stuffed silly with sugar, and with lots of treats left!

why i like my job

1. i get to see and try new CPGs (consumer packaged goods) before they hit the market
2. my work attire consists of t-shirt and flip flops in the summer and sweatshirt, jeans and gym shoes in the winter
3. i get to surf websites like www.quaker.com and www.peapod.com and have that be considered work
4. summer hours (1/2 day fridays every other week in the summer)
5. i got to go to great america on my 3rd day on the job
6. kayaking trip down the chicago river through downtown
7. we congregate in the hallway talking about granola bars, shampoo, etc. and that's considered work-related
8. i see my projects hit the supermarket shelves
9. i get to visit the quaker and tropicana offices

and my latest reason:
10. scavenger hunt yesterday and kickball in october!

it can get tough when i have to work long hours (hit a new record yesterday of 9:50pm... but it was self-imposed cos i insisted on going on the scavenger hunt even though i had work to do), but i have to remind myself how cool it is to be working in the CPG industry. and how badly i wanted to be doing what i'm doing now. i've always had a strange affinity for CPG, especially new products, and not many people can say they love what they're working with.

my latest favourite CPG is vaseline aloe lotion. a light texture, yet not compromising on its moisturising quality, and accented with a pleasant aloe scent. if you care to indulge me, leave me a comment with your favourite CPG and why. (it could span anything from cereal, deodorant, juice, diaper...)
